About this test
Our Thyroid Premium Bronze profile includes the classically tested components of thyroid function, essential for both diagnosis of thyroid disorders and for monitoring of any treatment regimes -Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Free Triiodothyronine (FT3) and Free Thyroxine (FT4). But the Blue Horizon laboratory team have gone a little bit further than our rivals with this one - for no extra charge Serum Cortisol and Serum Magnesium are included in this profile. It is widely reported that high cortisol levels can affect thyroid function, and vice versa. Magnesium has a particularly important role in the conversion of FT4 to FT3. A better view of the whole picture is thus possible even with this entry level profile.
